Affectionately known as YG, Young George is a much-loved East Fremantle restaurant and bar that’s been proudly going strong for 10 years. Owned by Melissa Palinkas and Susan Whelan, the venue is a celebration of creative, produce-driven food, WA wines and thoughtful hospitality.

Chef-owner Melissa Palinkas is known for her inventive, flavour-packed dishes that champion local growers and producers. Sustainability is core to what we do — in both the kitchen and the bar, we do our best to use every part of everything, minimising waste without compromising on flavour.

Grab a table in the main dining room or squeeze up at the bar and settle in for house cocktails, local craft beers and a globe-trotting menu of small and large plates designed for sharing.

Built in 1905 and originally a general store, our heritage venue still feels like it’s been part of George Street forever. Downstairs, you’ll find our hidden gem... a moody, spacious cellar perfect for private dinners, parties and group bookings.
